The Great Island Boat Yard diesel mechanics are ABYC certified and trained to service multiple brands of engines including Yanmar, Westerbeke, Mercruiser and more. We have strong relationships with independent specialists to provide advanced diagnostic and rebuild services for CAT, Detroit Diesel and Cummins engines.
We have developed detailed procedures for decommissioning and recommissioning. We follow these procedures rigorously and update them as a group after each season. We have developed a mechanical and system survey checklist that we complete during decommissioning to identify any issues that might impact the next boating season.
