Marina

I have been extremely pleased with the new Harken roller furling system and the other rigging work that John has completed. In late June we were gone for 10 days in weather that included winds of 25 knots with much higher gusts for several days of sailing. Liberty's rig performed and the Harken system was easily furled and reefed by hand.

Marina

The glacier did a wonderful job of carving out this scenic and well protected marina. We are located at the head of a deep cut emptying into Quahog Bay. The hills and dense trees on either side of the cut block winds and provide refuge for the eagles and osprey that we see daily. There is no river at the head of our cove, so tide effects are minimal. The stripers chase bait fish into the cove on the tide, and every year we catch a few big ones right off of the docks.

The marina has a full complement of boat and crew services housed in our newly constructed waterfront building. Please come and visit for the day, night or season. We think you’ll find Great Island to be a quiet, scenic and friendly stop.

Summary of amenities:

  • Friendly, family atmosphere where people say "hello”
  • Large, clean rest rooms
