I was impressed with the work you are doing on "Patience" and the discussion we had regarding the refit. I was also impressed with the general condition and appearance of the yard and buildings - I always pay attention to these conditions, because if you expect your boat to be well cared for, then that should be reflected in how the yard and facilities are maintained.

Our Approach

We are dedicated to maintaining, refitting and customizing boats to our customers' specifications. This requires a coordinated effort of many specialty marine services. Great Island Boat Yard is large enough to create dedicated shops where crew members can be specialists and small enough to be focused on the details of every project.

Our crew is what makes us great. We seek out craftsmen with exceptional skills and pride in their work, and we provide them with training in the most current products and boat building standards. We have created dedicated shops with specialized tooling that allow our crew members to work with quality and efficiency.

Refits are projects that bring multiple specialty shops together to bring an older boat back to "new boat” standards of cosmetics, safety, mechanical and electrical systems. All refits are directly managed by the owner of the yard. We have the experience, focus and horsepower to bring these complex jobs in on budget and on schedule.
