Our team “dropped” the keel from an Oyster 66 today. After removing the nearly 28,000 pound lower bulb, they scraped away 20-plus year old, failed bedding. Next, they cleaned the keel bolts and prepared the mounting surfaces for new bedding material. Two cases of 5200 are now on hand and will soon be applied to seal the keel joint. Once all is bolted back in place, the keel will be leak-free and the boat owners will be one step closer to safely transiting oceans.
