When the rocky coast of Maine takes a bite out of your outboard skegs, it’s nice to know that they can be rehabbed. Fortunately, the only damage this Hydra-Sports Suenos 5300 has suffered, after tagging bottom, is the loss of sacrificial material. To delete the resulting “shark bites” and get these large engines looking sporty again, our outboard techs have removed and gutted the lower units. The casings will now be handed over to our metal fabricator to reestablish the leading edges on all four of the 600 hp Mercury outboard skegs. Following the metalwork, our techs will reinstall the internal components and rehang the lower units.
