While the paint team primes and preps the hull and rail on a Little Harbor 53, the yard crew is preparing the stainless half round for remounting. By removing old adhesive and bits of wood from the back side, the team is ensuring a flush mount when this accent piece is reinstalled. Before the rail goes back in place, it will also be carefully polished. Taking care of such details matters, as a nice new paint job can really make an old, tarnished rail stand out – and not in a good way! With this simple extra step, the stainless rail will look fresh and sharp once atop the new Awlgrip finish.
