An Oyster 66 is undergoing a full repower this winter. So far, the original generator, transmission, and Perkins engine have been disconnected for removal – to be lifted by crane next week. In the meantime, all of the 25 year old hoses are being evacuated. Once these are out of the way, the bilges will be deep-cleaned, updated hosing will be run, and the new generator and engine will be installed. The boat is being repowered with a Cummins B 4.5 250-hp engine and an Onan generator. Following a multi-phase refit at Great Island, the owners plan to sail trans-Atlantic with the family!
