Equanimity Heading to Bahamas

The Sabre 426 Equanimity embarks for Florida and the Bahamas today.  Owner Jeremy Parr decided to truck the boat south with Journey’s End rather than sail her down for a variety of reasons, including ease of scheduling for family vacations, and less wear and tear for the boat.

The Parr family will spend several months cruising in the Bahamas this winter, prior to an upcoming overseas job assignment.

To prepare the boat for the trip, the GIBY Crew completed a number of projects this fall including a fresh coat of Awlgrip on the hull and recoating the exterior brightwork for extra protection down south.  GIBY’s Riggers installed new Kato Davits to hold a new AB aluminum bottom tender, and prepped the boat and mast for shipping.

Once in Florida, True Course Yachting, headed up by Ben Davis, will receive the boat, arrange for the mast to be stepped, prepare and then deliver the boat from Florida to Hope Town Marina in Marsh Harbor.

The Parrs will be in the company of several other GIBY vessel owners who have made the Bahamas their winter home…fair winds, Equanimity!
