The GIBY carpentry crew is chiseling their way through an old teak transom aboard a Lyman-Morse 46. Though the GIBY team gave the transom a convincing temporary facelift last winter – to get the new owners through their first boating season – this winter, it’s time for the real deal, a complete replacement! Voids, found in survey, lurking below the wooden surface must go. The new 1/8″ teak transom will be fabricated and mounted above the swim platform, away from the waterline and existing through-hulls. Stay tuned!
