Steering Service | Little Harbor 53

Our rigging team has completed a cable and chain replacement on a Little Harbor 53 steering system. Updates include refurbished sheaves and the installation of a custom support box to eliminate “slop” that was discovered at the pedestal during fall inspections. As part of the steering system rehab, the rudder was also serviced after excessive friction was found to be limiting its natural swing. Once the rudder nuts were appropriately tightened, proper weight distribution was achieved and ease of motion was restored. Steering systems are often overlooked service areas, but are truly critical to vessel operation – for comfort, control and ultimately safety at sea. In the event of  heavy weather, the last thing a skipper wants to lose is the steering!
