Vinyl Wrap | Nimbus C-11

While traditional paint applications are durable, tried-and-true, long term investments, vinyl wraps are quick to apply, easy to alter and customize, and less expensive in the short term. Vinyl wraps are not for every boat owner, but for some the option makes sense. A vinyl wrap can also help to preserve a gelcoat finish, particularly in a sunny southern climate. This winter, two boats are being vinyl-wrapped at Great Island. The first, a Nimbus C-11, is in process. The new white gel coat is being cloaked in a metallic grey. Next, a Jefferson 53, will be wrapped in a traditional navy blue. Since this boat is being prepared to cruise the Great Lakes over the next two years, significant investments are being made in mechanical and boat systems. The option to vinyl wrap the hull is allowing the owners to include a large-scale cosmetic project in their cruise-prep budget.
